Cameron Park

The 13th Annual Cameron Park Foothill Cruiser Car Show is Saturday June 11th at the Christa McAuliffe Park, gates open at 9:00am.

Fair Oaks

The 2nd Annual Fair Oaks Lions Car Show is Saturday at Fair Oaks Park from 9am to 3pm.

Folsom

The Folsom Motorfest is Thursday, June 9th to Sunday, June 12th at the Folsom City Park. It is a four day hot rod and classic car festival in historic Folsom California; fashioned after Hot August Nights.

Galt

The Sacramento Over The Hill Gang’s 11th Annual Pre-Father’s Day Car Show is Saturday, June 11th at the McFarland Ranch, 8899 Orr Rd in Galt. Hours are 8am to 2:30pm.

Lodi
Sunhouse’s annual fundraiser “The Sunhouse Autorama” will be held on Sunday, June 12, 2011 at Lodi Lake from 9am to 2pm.

Los Banos

Battle For The Vets Car & Bike Show is Saturday, June 11th beginning at 9am at Pacheco Park in Los Banos to benefit our returning military service members and their families.

Modesto

The 13th Annual American Graffiti Festival is June 10-12 at the West Campus of Modesto Junior College.

Newcastle

Newcastle Lions 9th Annual Hotrod & Custom Get Together is Sunday, June 12, 2011 at the Gold Country Fairgrounds, 1273 High Street in Auburn.

Paradise

On Saturday, June 11th, The Cruisin Classics of Paradise present the 15th Cars of Yesteryear Show. Hours are 8am to 4pm at the Paradise Performing Arts Center Complex.

Reno

Rock “N” Roll Revival & Classic Car Show on Virginia Street in Reno, Nevada is June 11th and 12th.

Sacramento

14th Annual Car Show and Concert presented by the Devotion Car & Truck Club of Sacramento is Sunday June 12th at Natomas High School from 10am to 5pm.

San Francisco

Hood Rats Car Club presents the 3rd Annual San Francisco Swap Meet across from Candlestick Park on Sunday June 12th.

San Leandro

2nd Annual Show and Shine Benefit Car Show at the Bayfair Center in San Leandro on Saturday, June 11th.

Santa Rosa

Peggie Sue’s All-American Cruise is Thursday, June 9th to Sunday, June 12th at A Place to Play Park in Santa Rosa.

Woodland

12th Annual Hot Rod Reunion is Sunday June 12th at the Yolo County Fairgrounds in Woodland. The Hot Rod Reunion is open to ALL vehicles 1972 or older as well as ALL years of motorcycles.

The 10th Annual Lewiston California Car Show


Like many of you, I didn’t know there was a Lewiston, California. But, if you go 26 miles miles west of Redding on Highway 299 and then north 4 miles on Trinity Dam Blvd, there it is. It’s not too far from Weaverville. I took Hwy 299 from Eureka to Redding once about 20 years ago in a truck, and after that, I decided to stay in the valley. It is one long and winding road.

For the last 19 years they have held an Old Lewiston Peddler’s Faire in the historic downtown area and for the last 10 years they added a car show. Most of the races and car shows last weekend in Northern California were postponed due to the weather conditions but not the dedicated car guys in Lewiston. They held their show and got a little wet but according to Jim Matthews from the Shasta Classics Car Club in Redding, they had a great time. He was even kind enough to share some pictures of the award winners with their cars.

What is your favorite Northern California Car Event?


We are lucky in Northern California to be close to so many kinds of entertainment and recreational opportunities. The mountains, the desert, rivers and the Pacific Ocean are within a few hours. We have historic race tracks where some of motorsports best drivers have competed. But, we also have great car shows and events.

The Concours in Pebble Beach is world famous. The Sacramento Autorama is “The Kustom Capital of the World” and one of the longest running indoor car shows in the world. Hot August Nights has grown and claims attendance of over 800,000 people during the week. The Good-Guys shows in Pleasanton are famous across the country and the Turlock Swap Meet and Kool April Nites are attended by people from all over the Western U.S. So, I thought an interesting question would be what is your favorite car event, which show is the one you look forward to the most?
