First Responder Appreciation Day Car Show

The 8th Annual First Responder Appreciation Day Car Show is Saturday from 8am to 1pm at Crest RV Resort, 5025 Wible Road.

The 1st Responder Appreciation Day was originally founded by radio personality Larry “Lug Nut” Thomas around September of 2015 at the Crest RV Resort in Bakersfield California. The Crest (Old Crest drive in) became the place to gather with other like minded gear heads and to show off their cars and hot rods while having a cup of coffee. Then around 2017 this author presented Larry with the idea, “Lets make this non-profit event bigger and lets raise money for charitable organizations in the Bakersfield community!” That’s what Larry and I did and unfortunately the pandemic came and like may other things we cancelled the 2020 event. With the recent passing of Lug Nut, I will carry his torch proudly and continue the 1st Responder Appreciation Day car show/fundraiser like he would’ve wanted. Lug-Nut was legend and I can never fill his shoes. It’s my belief as Lug Nut looks down from Heaven he can enjoy the 1st Responders Day show in September with a smile on his face knowing he created this great event for us and for the community…….
