Bryan Clauson originally from Antelope, CA finished in 6th place in the USAC National Sprint Car race at the Giant Chevrolet Kings Speedway in Hanford which enabled him to clinch the USAC National Drivers Championship. Robert Hight from Alturas, CA lost in the final round of Funny Car eliminations in the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series at the 47th annual Automobile Club of Southern California NHRA Finals.
