Welcome to NorCal Car Culture!

We hope to be an important source of information for people in Northern California who love classic cars, hot rods, trucks, motorcycles and all kinds of racing.

My first car: a 1953 Chevy Pickup.

We cover Northern California Car Shows, Swap Meets, Auto Racing, Motorcycle Events and Classic Car Auctions. We review auto related books, products, websites and businesses. We have articles on people from Northern California that love cars, that race, or just work in the automotive industry. We post photos of the cool cars, trucks and motorcycles we see, as well as event posters and automobilia. We maintain a directory of car clubs, race tracks, auto museums and Northern California auto businesses. We offer free Classified Ads and a Car Connection section.

Any ideas or suggestions for new items to cover or post are appreciated. Please feel free to email us with information on your car club, business, event.

    I’m trying to connect with Sleepy Stevens. Do you know where he lives now? Or someone who does? I assume the Auburn area but I don’t know his formal first name to find him in the phone directory. I saw his name mentioned in the August 20 Placerville Speedway news article on line about the Forsberg win. Thanks for the consideration. Ken

    1. Hi Ken, Sorry it took so long for the reply. You may have already found Sleepy. I don’t know him but maybe someone will see this and comment.

        1. Alan, are you related to Keith? I found him through Tom Arbogast in Auburn. I visited Tom’s shop this summer (2016) and he showed me a lot of photos from when Sleepy raced as far back as the late 1950’s. What some great photos. You’ll have to connect with Tom to see them. I visited Sleepy while I was in Auburn. Guess what? He was sleeping when I stopped by.

For the seventh consecutive year “Chrome meets Country” in downtown Saratoga at this year’s Seventh Annual Saratoga Classic Car Show where over 250 colorful classic and cool cars will gather in the historic village along Big Basin Way. Sponsored by the Saratoga Chamber of Commerce and the Cool Car Club of Saratoga, Los Gatos and Campbell, the event runs from 10 AM to 5 PM on Sunday, July 17th. A wide selection of food, tasty beer and wine from local wineries and breweries, craft vendors, raffle prizes and a live band in the center of town all add up to a fun-packed day for people of all ages. Cool Cars can be registered for the Saturday Cool Car Cruise and/or for the Sunday Classic Car Show by going to CoolCarClub.com or SaratogaChamber.org.   7. For the 9th year in a row on September 24, 2016, Perry Creek Winery in Fair Play, CA will be holding it’s Cobra’s and Classic’s event. The winery will be releasing it’s 2013 vintage of Cobra wines with food and music. Attendees will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite vehicle. All drivers of Cobra’s and Classic’s will be admitted free.     I understand u closed your book/magazine store. If you’re looking for an outlet for your inventory, you might want to check with Nick Licata, with All Chevy, and Nitroactive. I have some 50 & 60’s issues that I hesitate to let go, but that you might work with him.
